Bobby Alvarado, Professor of Welding at Arizona Western College, makes the “Y” in the new “UMA” sign unveiled Monday morning on the AWC main campus. AWC partnered with the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area and Greater Yuma Economic Development on the new sign installation. Professors and students in the AWC welding program created the sign which is located between the Engineering Building and the Theater Building on the campus. The sign serves as a photo opportunity for visitors to be the “Y” in Yuma.
